When purchasing a property in Italy, the listed price does not include ancillary purchase costs, namely taxes, notary fees and commission. The commission is calculated as a percentage of the purchase price, as follows:

5% on a purchase price of up to EUR 150,000 (but at least EUR 6,000)

4 per cent for a purchase price of between €150,001 and €350,000

3 per cent for a purchase price of €350,001 and above

The commission includes the translation of contractual documents and the presence of an interpreter at the signing of the purchase contract.
